Item (for understanding say a page), Joomla requires a category (say for understanding a file to keep the page) and a section (say an ulmira to keep the file).

1. A.  Section Creation (remember Almira) : <content > <section manager> select <<NEW>>, fill title <next>, your new section is ready! Remember section is like almira to keep files.

Category: (Like file) : <Content > <Category manager> select <<NEW>>, fill title. Select which section (or almira) this category (i.e. file) should be put <next>, your new category is ready!

Item : < content> <Content by section> for example lets take a section say <etc> Items in this section will be displayed.  For new section select <new>. File title, title alias, then (Intro text) column is for short summary, Main text will be displayed when someone like intro text and clicks on more at the end of intro text.  One can make links to websites or scanned uploaded pages by using options provided (clip shaped option). Again you can change the section or category for this Item, if required.  

2. Menu additions: The menus are buttons as visible on the website; for example, at www.ghrs.in example menus are <Home> <About us> <Demands > etc. A menu can be moved to another menu like in <seminar’s, Dharnas> menu has a menu <Videos in 100′s>

Go to <menu> <main menu>  select <<NEW>>  select say < blog content category>

What section / category you want to be displayed when public clicks this button should be selected.  Next select the place this menu should appear, on main ghrs page or inside some menu.  <Save> or <apply> (apply keeps you in the same page, save takes you back).

 www.ghrs.in is structured such that each top menu is a section, any submenu is a category. So for example, If you want to put say 1 item in menu say <seminars ,dharnas >, then section could be <dharnas> and category could be <dharnasc>.”   

3. How to upload a PDF or image file

Go to <site> < media manager > Create a directory to upload your images to as you may not have access in directories created by others.  (File directory name you want in <create directory> dialogue box, select <create > button at top.

To upload a file <browse>, then <upload>.  How to get the URL (website address) for the file you just uploaded, select the file uploaded, right click of mouse select properties.

You can type this on your web browser like “Mozill” or “Internet explorer”. Usually we use this address to make a link in lines of Items.
